April 2010
Hansatech have now completed the final phase of their compressor replacement programme.
A study of the old compressor system was carried out over a seven day period. This data demonstrated that a new system would save a considerable amount of energy and running costs. HPC was commissioned with the installation which was completed under one week during April.
Steven Deighton, the Manager heading up the project for Hansatech commented that "We needed a system that not only reduced our energy use but could also cope with the fluctuations in demand created by the production environment. Rather than just installing one large compressor, we installed computer air manager, a second 500ltr reservoir to support the existing one and three small compressors, one of which is a variable speed. Not only do we now have a very flexible system with built in redundancy, the energy savings are significant and the return on investment is within 3 years."
